Manage the effective prompt without duplicating every rule
The global prompt is the shared starting point. When Pro gives one managed website its own prompt, that override becomes effective for that website while every other website continues to inherit the global version.

Name and edit the central content prompt used whenever the selected website does not have its own override.

Pro can select a registered website and create a separate prompt for genuine brand, market or workflow exceptions.

Inspect the resolved instruction before a live workflow depends on it
The Prompt Tester combines the effective stored prompt with realistic article and website context. It shows the exact final prompt, its source, readiness, estimated input tokens and maximum estimated cost before you decide whether to make an OpenAI request.
A missing value is not silently removed. The preview identifies missing, unknown or invalid variables and keeps the GPT test disabled until the final prompt is complete.
Open Platform Settings → Prompts
Edit the global prompt in Free. Pro can also select a managed website and open its dedicated prompt workspace.
Add only approved variables
Use tokens such as {{topic}}, {{primary_keyword}}, {{language}}, {{tone}} and {{audience}} from the on-screen reference. Unsupported variables are rejected when saving.
Save the change explicitly
Nothing changes until an administrator submits the form. A successful save updates the effective prompt and adds the previous content to its revision-backed history.
Build a read-only preview
Choose the global or eligible website source and enter topic, keywords, article type, word count and writing context. Website name, URL and current date are supplied automatically where applicable.
Run an optional GPT test
Select a supported model and output limit, then press Run GPT Test. Only that explicit action contacts OpenAI; the returned test output is not stored.

What Prompt Management is included in Free?
Free includes the global prompt, the complete approved-variable reference, read-only prompt history, a safe final-prompt preview and the optional explicit GPT test. Pro adds prompt overrides for registered websites.
Is a custom global prompt required to create content?
No. The content generators retain their task-specific instructions. A custom global prompt adds your shared standards and guidance to those generation workflows.
What happens when a website has no override?
SitePublisher AI uses the global prompt. If a Pro website override is removed, that website automatically returns to the global prompt without changing its profile or other settings.
Can I add my own variable names?
Not in the current interface. Only the fourteen listed variables can be saved. This prevents typing mistakes or unsupported placeholders from silently reaching content generation.
Can I restore an earlier prompt version?
The history is read-only in the current build and has no one-click restore action. You can inspect an earlier version, copy the required content into the editor and save it as a new current version.
Does previewing a prompt use OpenAI credits?
No. Building the preview only resolves variables and calculates local estimates. OpenAI is contacted only after you deliberately press Run GPT Test; normal API charges apply to that test.
