Optional updates, privacy controls and a clearer path to explore Pro.
Added
- Updates & Privacy settings. A new tab under Platform Settings gives you separate controls for update checks, installation reporting and a public website credit. All three are off by default.
- Updates through WordPress. Enable update checks to receive future Free releases from sitepublisher.ai through the normal WordPress update screen. Automatic installation remains under your WordPress settings.
- Optional installation reporting. Share the plugin version, build and active status with a random installation token. Reports do not include your website URL, email address, API key, articles or visitor data. Reporting stops when you opt out or deactivate the plugin.
- Optional footer credit. Add a “Powered by SitePublisher AI” link to your website footer. The credit is never inserted into article content.
- Explore Pro. Find the Free and Pro comparison from the plugin menu, dashboard and WordPress plugin list, with a link to the pricing page.
Improved
- Verified update downloads. The update service checks the package identity, WordPress and PHP requirements, and SHA-256 checksum before an update can be installed.
- Installation reporting controls. Added opt-out handling, deactivation handling and protection against reusing an installation token after a website is cloned or moved.
- Release versioning. The public version is now 2.0.1, allowing WordPress to distinguish this release from 2.0.0.
Updating an existing Free installation? Upload the new ZIP through Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose to replace the installed version. Keep the existing plugin installed during the update to retain its settings and stored data. See our Privacy Policy for details about the optional services.

- Single Article creation. Create AI-assisted articles and featured images, then save a draft or publish on the WordPress website where the plugin is installed.

- Country and language catalog. Includes the built-in catalog introduced in build 0048R, with countries and official or regionally official languages available without a SitePublisher AI network request.
Changed and fixed
- Public package information. Added GPLv2-or-later metadata, license documentation and publisher details for direct distribution.
- External service documentation. Documented the data sent to OpenAI when you request an AI action using your own API key.
- Free edition boundaries. Fixed a filter-based issue that could otherwise change the reported edition or grant protected Pro features.
- Local publishing destination. Single Article automatically selects “This website”, including after the form is cleared.
