SitePublisher AI Pro · WordPress REST API · Encrypted connection credentials

Central control

Scale your network without mixing up its websites

Every destination keeps its own identity and operating context. You choose the website first, then SitePublisher AI carries that selection through profiles, links, categories, queues and publication.

HUB

One managed website list

See every connected destination, its authentication method, stored categories and credential state from one central WordPress installation.

VOICE

A separate identity per site

Give every website its own country, languages, tone, audience, reading level and author preferences.

Explore Website Profiles
CAT

Current WordPress categories

Retrieve the destination’s complete category list, including empty categories, and save a website-specific default category.

SCOPE

Website-scoped resources

Profiles, internal-link records, publishing jobs and destination settings stay associated with the website they belong to.

FLOW

Fewer destination mistakes

Select a named website instead of repeatedly copying URLs and credentials into separate publishing tasks.

A controlled connection flow

Connect WordPress without sharing the main account password.

WordPress Application Passwords provide revocable access for SitePublisher AI. The connection is verified against the destination’s REST API before you save and use it.

01

Create dedicated WordPress access

Create an Application Password for an appropriate user on the destination website. This is separate from the user’s normal login password and can be revoked later.

02

Add the website details

Enter a recognizable name, the HTTPS website URL, the WordPress username and its Application Password. Bearer-token authentication is also supported for compatible setups.

03

Verify access and retrieve categories

SitePublisher AI confirms the authenticated WordPress user can edit posts, records whether it can publish, and retrieves all available categories without changing the destination.

04

Preview before saving

Review the website, authentication method, credential action, categories and changed fields. Only an exact approved preview can be stored.

CHECK
Category refresh is read-only.

It verifies the connection and reads WordPress data, but it does not create, update or publish content on the connected website.

Website context

Give every destination the settings it actually needs

A network can span different brands, countries, audiences and editorial standards. SitePublisher AI keeps those differences explicit instead of forcing one global configuration onto every website.

LANG

Country and languages

Select from the built-in country and language catalogue, including multiple official languages where a destination needs them.

TONE

Tone and audience

Define the preferred writing tone, target audience, reading level and author for consistent website-specific output.

SEO

Publishing defaults

Use destination-aware categories, internal links and content settings so every workflow starts with the correct site context.

Connection security

Access is protected, limited and revocable.

SitePublisher AI combines WordPress-native access controls with encrypted local credential storage and explicit previews before connection changes are saved.

Protect

Encrypted credentials

  • Application Passwords are encrypted at rest
  • Secrets stay hidden in the normal website list
  • Editing can retain the existing stored secret
Limit

WordPress decides permissions

  • The connected user must be able to edit posts
  • Direct publication requires publish permission
  • A dedicated publishing account is recommended
Revoke

Stay in control of access

  • Revoke the Application Password in WordPress
  • Delete a connection and its encrypted credential
  • Replace credentials without rebuilding the site record

Frequently asked questions

Connecting a website, clearly explained

Multi-site management uses standard WordPress access wherever possible. The detailed guides cover both sides of the connection.

Do I install SitePublisher AI on every destination?

No. SitePublisher AI runs in the central WordPress workspace. A destination needs a reachable WordPress REST API and an authorized connection credential.

Does SitePublisher AI need my normal WordPress password?

No. The recommended connection uses a WordPress Application Password created specifically for the integration, together with the matching username.

What permissions does the connected user need?

The account must be able to create and edit posts. It also needs WordPress publication permission when the workflow should publish or schedule posts rather than only prepare drafts.

Does refreshing categories change the destination website?

No. Category refresh is a read-only REST request. The resulting snapshot is saved centrally only after you approve the connection preview.

Can I disconnect a website later?

Yes. You can delete the managed connection and its encrypted credential in SitePublisher AI. You can also revoke the Application Password directly on the destination for immediate access control.

Where can I find the setup instructions?

Start with Website Application Passwords, then follow Connecting a WordPress website.
